Long Voyage Ahead - Pt 3
Leaving the Spongou Nebula, I travelled North to my next destination, WP13. I kept receiving messages from other commanders that had already arrived to WP13. I assured them that I was about to reach them in time for the weekly meetup. Started jumping system after system and on the way, why not, a couple of scans for my Vista Genomics friends.
I got to the first POI for this week. Phae Phlai AA-A h0 (Explorer's End) - Situated between the Bovomit Badlands and the far edge of the Formidine Rift, this system can pose an extreme hazard to any starships hyperspacing to it. Its primary star is a harmless AE/BE Herbig Protostar, but the danger lies in a Blue Giant companion in extreme proximity and two orbiting black holes. Starships approaching from the wrong vector can easily become wedged in the inferno between the primary and secondary stars, or exit hyperspace very close to one of the black holes. Explorers beware. Just took my time to snap a couple of pictures.
Next stop was Phae Aeb ZK-P e5-0 (Seitsemän Veljestä (Seven Brothers)) - During the first half of The Dead End's Circumnavigation Expedition (DECE), a system with 6 B type stars and 1 A type star was found while surveying the systems within the sector. Such system is quite remarkable on its own but considering its location within the Outer Arm Region, it is exceptional. Due to the complicated nature of the system, no planets are present in the system.
From there I headed towards my final destination for that week, WP13 Before that a couple of prominent systems that needed some attention to their details.
Got to WP13 in time for a couple of drinks with my old friends wo were waiting for me. Had long conversations with them explaining the many systems I had visited. the next morning I checked out the system. Smaidiae IZ-M d8-7 (Rings Shore) - Moon Orbiting extremely close to the parent gas giants rings. Orbit is so close that the rings edge reaches beyond the orbital cruise distance of the moon. Aside from the mountains and canyons that are abundant on the moon there are even supposed to be silicate vapour geysers, but I wasn't able to locate any of them. The closest moon to the rings has a fast orbit as well.
After a couple of days there, there was the announcement for WP14. The location of this new waypoint indicated that we're heading back home. I had something else in mind. I had always in my mind that I would visit one of the southernmost systems at the edge of the galaxy - The Livingstone Point. So I sat down, and started calculating what it takes to reach this particular system. I had also planned to reach the POIs and WP14 before I head there. A meetup event was organised and after the mass jump I commenced my ambition to reach that far away system.
That was it, until the next one. o7
