Voyage to Colonia

17 Apr 2020PlanetaryOlive
I have recently embarked on a mission I may soon begin to regret. I have ventured nearly 6000 lightyears from Sol, and there are no major stations for thousands of lightyears. I feel as though I am infinitely far away from my goal. The nav-computer tells me i have 450 jumps left. The ship is running on antiquated equipment that I barely had money for when I outfitted the ship. To start this log, I'll demonstrate the ship and why it is making this trip more stressful:

The Discovery is an un-engineered Diamondback Explorer with approximately a 37 lightyear jump range. The ship has 4 bobbleheads I bought for the sake of my sanity. Even with the biggest fuel scoop possible, it still takes ages to fill up the ship. Plus, the cockpit feels compact and crushed in, so I feel even more stressed in the cockpit of my own ship.

The journey itself has had many close calls on the way to the Eagle Nebula, my current position. The first near disaster is when i was using the neutron highway to attempt to shorten travel times. the highway carried me about half of the way to the Eagle Nebula, before the ship eventually lost so much integrity in the FSD that it began malfunctioning. After shutting down the FSD and asking for help from a squadron, they told me to just get to the nearest station before it got any worse. So from that point on, I was jumping without a boost. On my way to the Eagle Nebula, I noticed the path came quite close to the Omega Nebula.

So, I plotted a course for a group of blue stars near the nebula. after taking in the views for a while, I decided to continue on to the Eagle Nebula. I had heard of a station in the Eagle Nebula, so I plotted a course for it in hopes i could find replacements for my outdated equipment. However, once I arrived I had found that the station didn't even offer outfitting. The most i was able to get was a repair for the damage the neutron highway caused. So, I departed from the Eagle Nebula and have plotted a course directly for Colonia. It is at this point that I am currently at. Thus, I will end this log here.
