The Second Voyage, Part 1: Preparation

14 May 2020PlanetaryOlive
I have decided that i want to try to go back to Colonia. Last time, I attempted to get to Colonia, however space madness got to me and I self destructed. If you read my last logbook, I talked about the "Discovery", an un-engineered DBX with a 37 LY jump range. However, I have recently created the most advanced ship of mine yet. I present to you, the Atlas I:

A heavily engineered ASPX that I have outfitted with the lessons learned from my last expedition.  It has a jump range of 55 LY, and is geared with an AFMU. In a direct route to Colonia, it would take only 220 jumps (According to my calculations). If every jump was a neutron jump, it would only take an absurd 55 Jumps! The fuel scoop can take in incredible amounts of fuel, and it is equipped with an engineered DSS. Overall, I am feeling confident.

Chapter 1: Lessons learned

Although the last expedition was a near complete failure, it helped immensely when planning this trip. For starters, last time I had used the Neutron Highway to get halfway to the Eagle Nebula. However, my FSD integrity went below 80, meaning I couldn't use it past that point. This time however, I have packed one with me. The other lesson is that going to the Eagle Nebula likely added thousands of lightyears onto the trip! This time, the route will be almost completely direct. I am still planning out the route to find interesting areas within a 500 LY zone around the route.

Chapter 2: The Route

The route is on an almost direct path, save for the minor deviations from routing through different stars. The route will likely take me near the Skaudai Nebula, so I will probably take a detour to there. I will likely also visit many planetary nebulae, such as NGC 6790, The Fish Eye nebula, and the Little Gem nebula. Other locations to visit may be PSR J1901+0716, Beta Hydrae, and Nyeajaae IT-M c9-19.

Chapter 3: The Format

From this point on, future logs will display my current distance from Sol, and my current distance from Colonia. Also displayed will be my current location.

Chapter 4: Special Thanks

I would like to take this time to thank the New Pilots Initiative for helping me get to where I am today. They have helped me plan this route and have allowed me to get further than I ever thought possible. Some members I would like to thank are:

-CMDR Dalvon

-CMDR Either

-CMDR Mgram

-CMDR Sea Kerman

-CMDR Wi11 Man 1

Thus concludes this logbook. I am looking forwards to visiting colonia.
