Zero Log: Entry 1
21 Jun 2020Zero Recall
Day 2 of flying my own ship feels... Surreal? I guess that I had resigned to the fact that I never wanted to be off the ground for any reason at all. Taking a few Courier Runs, I got my bears. This was different than flying on a course around Coelho Station. DEFINITELY different from flying in a hologram.Day 1
I moved around bouncing data from station to station and after making a tad of credits, I purchased a couple of Cargo Racks. The ship didn't feel to empty anymore and I started running supplies on top of delivering the data. Easy enough. No where near what I'd need to help my grandmother, but enough to go from making a few thousand credits to making about 50k credits in one delivery. I did that for a better part of my day until I just couldn't fly anymore.
I tried taking a nap on The Unreliable, but I just couldn't do it. I guess this ship is haunted. Haunted with memories. With thoughts of inadequacy. So I finished up a run and decided to call it back at Harris Port.
Day 2
When I woke up, I had a message from my Mother. God, how long had it been? 5 years? 6? Maybe it was at my Grandfather's Memorial. Either way, she had informed me that Teller Ring in LFT 90 was in need of some supply runs and not enough hands on deck. It was a good chance for me to get some more funds. So I packed fresh clothes and hit the open Galaxy.
After a few hours of travel, I arrived at LFT 90. I checked in with my Mother and my siblings. Well... most of my siblings at least. God. It was good to see them again. Apparently no one hears much from sister, Brynn. I knew she had jumped on a Beluga and decided to travel the Galaxy. She wanted to see different stars and black holes, and paint them. She sends a transmission from time to time to let us know she's ok, but thats really it.
After a few hours of visiting, I decided to get to work. Teller Ring had quite a bit of Medicines. Almost too much at this point. They needed a bunch delivered to a neighboring Systems. I was assigned Zeessze. With a destination set, I just had one problem. All of the Medicines that were to be carried at to be paid for in advance. No taking and selling and bringing back the money.
"Fuck"
Well. Luckily, my mom had some spare credits. Enough to get me started. I think I've made about 7 or 8 trips. Taking Basic Medicines, and returning with Beer. It was a substantial income on my part. I was able to pay my mom back as well as pick up more Cargo Racks. I went from holding 8 Tons of Cargo to 40 Tons. And damn it man, when I say that this thing flies different with 32 extra tons on it.
But, I think I'm gonna call it a day. I've got a few errands to run in the morning before I continue on.
Maybe this won't be so bad after all.
