Captain's Log 15:02:3307

Hell...what can I even call the shit-show that's been this past week. I'm not even truly sure where to start beyond that Jupiter (because I refuse to put any kind of title of respect in his name. I mean what even is a Supreme Executive anyway?!) decided that he was finally going to show that his ego was just as big as the planet of his namesake from Sol. I always knew he was a powermonger wanting money hand over fist, but I honestly should have seen this coming from the sudden and rather hostile takeovers and attempted mergers.

I honestly don't think anyone saw this coming.

Ida found me at the bar talking to some new acquaintances. This Tharik guy I'm...honestly not sure what to make of. An arrogant and pompous ass, yes; however, not in the worst possible way. His men seem to like him at least, though, that might have been just the alcohol. And their weird obsession with being called Corsairs instead of pirates. Piracy of a different name is all that is...but I didn't want to argue the point.

Honestly, who drew my attention was that trio of crew on the nearly burnt out Gunship...or was it an Assault Ship? I didn't get a good look at it really, but the profile's of that line of Federal vessels all look the same after a while. Lord knows I've been scrapping enough of them out here this week.

Effie seems to be a somewhat no-nonsense type at first glance. Likes to get things done on her time table. My way or highway, but I can respect that. Even if she nearly ran me down when greeting them out in a moment of curiosity. Powerful set of legs on her.

Jim and Kate were the ones I had more time with, and I actually enjoyed their company. Jim seems a little protective, I did notice him go for his gun once but I tried not to startle him too badly, even if Loki did that for me with rather spectacular aplomb. Kate...now she's an interesting one. She seems rather kind, which anyone who hacked into this log might find odd to note, but I find it so rarely out here in the black lately. As a freelancer and Federal Admiral (in name only), I've iced and dusted countless lives. As a pirate, many were innocent. It was nice, to see that little bit of light out here.

Anyway, that's it for now I suppose. The Auriga's repair bays are nearly burnt out with people using it for rearming and repairs to their damaged vessels. Any Jupiter Division ship that comes by is getting gunned down, so there's plenty of salvage to restock supplies to keep up with demand...but it's a mess.

I hate it. Reminds me too much of my childhood...bah. I need to get some sleep.
