Sova's Log 26-09-3306/1

26 Sep 2020Sovareza
It's been about a week since my last log. I wouldn't say a lot has happened, but a lot has happened.

I currently find myself in the system of Preae Aewsy RN-S C17-79, around a class M Red star that itself orbits around a binary system of two class K Yellow-Orange stars. I've set the supercruise assist I have fitted to orbit the star, allowing me to scoop fuel before I continue my journey.

I remember some of the things I've mentioned in previous logs but don't care to visit back to them. At least, not so early into my logs. I'll do my best to not repeat myself.

I've obviously completed the materials for the G-FSD Booster and managed to acquire the best available module (and thus jump range boost). My ship is sitting on around 52ly and pounding out just over 200ly when overcharged via neutron stars - which is how one finds themselves so far from civilization. I think I have found something I like in the universe, and something I enjoy doing: exploring.

I know tritium is in a bit of a shortage of sorts right now and fleet carriers far out in the black are stranded. Galnet says nothing about it, but I've heard other Commanders talking. Tritium isn't a bad commodity, nor is painite, but there is much too much involved to enjoy, regardless of the payout. I know void opal and LTD's are more valuable, but the overall problem is the same: it's just picking the right asteroids and shooting at them (or drilling/exploding them). Some people may enjoy that but I am not one of them.

Exploration is the final frontier. Although I am heading towards human-inhabited systems, I am still finding things others have yet not, even with thousands of commanders out there.

Currently, my goal is a round-trip from Meliae to Colonia to Sag A then back to Meliae, where I'll sell my exploration data (which will hopefully be worth a fair few credits) and potentially purchase an Anaconda that I can use to get even higher jump ranges, not to mention extra module space. I'll be able to handle the size of it once I get used to it, and to break it in I might take it to Beagle Point.

I need to get through this journey first.

My first stop is actually Gandharvi, on the way to Colonia. I'm 12,298.42ly's away from Colonia and 5911.0ly's from Gandharvi. I've been using the Neutron Highway to speed up my trip and it has brought the number of jumps I need to make down significantly. In saying that, I need to manually plot my trips in the galaxy map, which is slightly frustrating. If anything, it's teaching me a lesson about patience.

Oh right! The reason I even started this log entry. I discovered the star system I'm in! All 3 stars, 1 rocky body, 7 high metal content planets and 1 water world! I'm about to set off to map them all, but it's exciting that when I eventually sell the data, and someone else accidentally stumbles upon this system, they'll see I both discovered and mapped all of them.

This system is MINE. If it were possible, it would be my Home.
