A stroll in the Bubble Gardens

Shirokane Chika, writing from the helm of Minori at HIP 58832Participating in a booze cruise is no new news to me. Load the wine at the bubble, try to find a spot on the Peak and sell all the wine for a slick profit while forgetting the stress back in the bubble. Whatever Federation or Imperials do does not affect me and meeting like-minded skippers on the peak are usually fun for me. The Thargoids are a big problem - but when you can zoom out and see the galaxy - sometimes I don't understand why we are still fixating on petty issues as a 34th century civilization.
But this time there was a problem. There was a unexpected spaceport breach at the wine loading site claiming the life of 3 people - Murphy's law claiming the continuous stream of people for as long as humanity existed; and the Peak is celebrating their public holidays too early, putting a Godzilla into our loading plans just after helping Aegis out. Maybe it's because of the loudmouthed Rackham, but I don't care about what he does. Another egomaniac apparently is what the Federation need. If being a trillionaire is credential for running in a election - I, and a lot of carrier skippers that I know will absolutely pool enough billions into a commander to make them a multitrillionaire who can actually propose stuff that makes sense. We can make intergalactic trading accords that will boost the economy instead of the bloated words of that trillionaire. Or we can make more profit for everyone. Both makes sense, while what the deranged trillionaire had said doesn't make sense.
The Public Holiday drew to a close some hours ago, and a lot of skippers up here had not sold all of their wine. From the radio chatter I know some are throwing these out of the airlock just for the fun, and some are drinking it with the crew. I can't drink that much wine, nor my crew can - so we're gonna throw a party up here and see how much we can make a dent out of the pile of wine. I know they needed a rest after speedjumping up here.
