"You've got to be kidding me..." - I said to nobody in particular looking at the terminal and the price listed next to Void Opals - "40 000 credits? That's insane!"

Especially that I had 28 units of the damned mineral sitting in the cargo hold of New Hope II.

Whatever. I switch the view to private messages screen and find one from my brother Tom. He says he won't join me, as he has fallen ill. Right after two weeks of holidays he took when we made our first million credits.

"You've got to be kiddin' me, bro" - I say again and switch the view once more to galaxy map. I quickly apply filters to show only refinery and high tech systems - and bingo, I find one barely two jumps away: Col 285 Sector AY-N b21-2. That's a name I'll surely remember. I copy it onto my datapad and head for the hangar, determined to sell the opals for good profit. And then go find some more.

People say that mining is boring. But that's prolly they never tried the deep core variant. I only saw two asteroids explode - and I can't wait to see more...

Bailey out.
