Yesterday I was in the middle of doing a trading run, when I received a message from the Pilot's Federation informing me that I had reached the rank of Elite in trading. I was honestly surprised, because while I knew I had traded a lot since it's been my primary profession so far, I didn't think I was anywhere close to Elite.
Anyway, after I finished my run I figured I might as well visit the Founders Memorial and see what the fuss is about. It was... fairly anticlimactic. The biggest surprise was seeing so many commanders in one place! I did check out the factions and the missions they offered. Quite shady. And, of course, I couldn't resist taking the opportunity to get myself a new ship, actually the one I'm in right now. A rescue ship to get in and out of the vast majority of station types. It might be wiser to continue trading to up my capital, but... I just feel an intense need to do something significant in these times.
