Spoiling for a Fight

I couldn't take it anymore! As much as I love exploration, I long for combat !So I did it... Bought myself a combat ship. An Imperial Eagle . It was rather disappointing . Just not enough raw destructive power for me. Beautiful little ship however. To be expected from an Imperial ship. Compact luxury . I enjoyed the lighting and detail of the interior. Kind of gives one the feel of being some old nobleman just itching for their glory days . "Lets take the Eagle for a spin today. Let us get away from the politics and social BS for just a little while ."
But that little ship will get me killed! So no... Don't think I'll be flying that one.
What about a Vulture? Seems like a solid ship. Core Dynamics built a real beast with this one. I believe given time and some seriously hard earned credits that this one is a winner. A large, open canopy gives me a great view of my targets. It moves and turns quick enough to fly right up the ass of my targets ! Flip off the flight assist, pull a hard g turn and your bounty voucher will soon be mine! Don't fret though; I'll pick up your defeated ,broken self and haul it to the nearest search and rescue. I'll make credits off of you that way too and you will soon be flying again. I know you will be seeking revenge . Bring it on pilot! Lets dance!
Anyway. As I often do in my logs, I digress. The Vulture has downsides .Maybe a more experienced pilot would know how to improve its issues. However, I am Mostly Harmless and still working on it. The Vulture features two class three hardpoints. To get the damage output that I want, I have to install two kinetic weapons of the same class. How do I take out a well shielded and tanked Alliance Chieftain? We just end up trading blows and I watch as my targets shields regenerate at what seems a ridiculously fast rate. I'll never brake the shield and manage to apply any real damage to its hull.
How about I install a thermal weapon along side that high damage kinetic. Well damn! Now I don't have the power capacity to keep the weapons firing until the battle is won. I have to juggle pips and module priority until I'm so distracted with that, I have to retreat to a safe distance and regroup. Not what I had in mind.
With all that said I am not ready to give up on this carrion eating avion. Whose idea was to name this thing "Vulture" anyway ?
So here I go. Back to the hunt for the resources I need to turn this beast into something worthy of honorable combat.
What is the draw of the fight? Why do I long to risk my life for the thrill ? Why do I justify my thrill seeking by claiming that I fight for justice?
Whatever! I love it! If I can deal out some righteous justice along the way then so much the better!
