Myself and several other pilots form the Aces Wild Aerospace Corps felt the need to support the Azimuth project despite our typically staying out of Thargoid space and generally leaving them well alone.
We felt this time though that maybe the Proteus device would stop them or at least get them to negotiate a peace. If that is even possible. We headed over and did our part in HIP 22460 hunting down scouts and interceptors in the conflict zones. There were so many pilots and so many Thargoids. Ships on both sides dying right and left. It was intense but we felt it was worth our support. We took down many of Thargoids and I even sent a message from the Pilots Federation that my combat rank had been increased to the Elite status.
We did our part and then we pulled back to watch the test of the Proteus Wave from the safety of our Carrier a few jumps away. Sure glad we did as well everyone now knows, it did not go as expected. I don't know how this technology works but from watching the video it looks like the Proteus Wave triggered some other Thargoid Failsafe in response. Maybe because it was emitted from a Thargoid base? Perhaps this technology would work better in smaller scale from a ship or a carrier? Probably wont know know since the entire system is a waste zone of debris and very pissed off death flowers!
Anyway my crew and I are headed back to our home systems to keep up the good fight there. We will be ready and waiting to help the Thargoid war as we can but for now our support in HIP 22460 is at an end.
