High Lord Lyria I Eardley has been rushed to an undisclosed medical facility in The Vestige after an attempt was made on her life by a Xeria's Wrath agent. The High Lord was undergoing her duties as a ranking member of the Spearhead Charter Royal Guard, assisting in securing control of Okorafor Terminal in HR 4062. Nearby security forces, rallied by SCRG Royal Guard Flannery "Cap'n" Tennille, managed to intervene before a fatal blow could be struck, but the attacker evaded capture. The High Lord has been revealed to be comatose, but otherwise stable, and doctors are working hard to ensure a full recovery.
Royal Guard Flannery "Cap'n" Tennille has earned much acclaim from citizens of The Vestige for saving the life of the High Lord.A pirate broadcast hijacked many public viewing screens in The Vestige, showing video footage of the assault being carried out by a dark haired female. This was followed by a pre-recorded message, in which the attacker claimed to be the daughter of Xeria Duront, the disgraced betrayer of the Imperial Vestige seen as a matyr by the criminal organisation known as Xeria's Wrath.
"The Vestige is weak. Your High Lord has no claim to the throne. Look as she lies there bleeding, helpless to defend herself. She has reigned through a bed of lies and deceit. She killed my mother, rightful ruler of The Vestige, in cold blood. Open your eyes and see the true heir to The Vestige before you.
I, Talia Duront, daughter of Queen Xeria Duront and King Thaddeus Duront, claim to The Vestige by birthright, and all who oppose me shall know my Wrath."

The video feed closed with a Xeria's Wrath banner, overlayed with the message "Lyria Eardley murdered Queen Xeria Duront. Xeria's Wrath stands with her daughter, Queen Talia Duront. We are her Wrath."
Speculation has abounded as to whether this claim can be true. While Xeria, now dead for several years, had no known heir, she remained hidden from 3297 until her execution by the hand of Lyria Eardley. Some believe Xeria visited her husband the King before beginning her attack on The Night of Betrayal, so an heir born after her departure from The Vestige could be possible. Even if this were true, experts state that the crime of high treason enacted by Xeria against the Imperial Vestige breaks her claim to The Vestige. Regardless, if Talia could prove her relation by blood to Thaddeus Duront, she could be considered an heir irrespective of her mother's crimes.
While the High Lord recovers from her injuries, Captain Ben Myers, Lord Alexandria, will take on the duties of High Lord as expected of his role as Lord Regent. The Vestige Herald approached the Lord Regent for comment.
"As Captain of the SCRG, and Lord Regent, I vow to bring Talia Duront to justice for crimes committed against our High Lord and The Vestige.
Statements that The Vestige is weak are unfounded, as most of you know we have never been stronger. Spearhead Charter in the last several months has reclaimed several systems for The Vestige; Kaana, Chielas, Supen and most recently the capital of Valkaryan, HR 4062. Combined with bringing Asgar General Solutions into our government, we now control all but two of the systems in The Vestige.
I will be assembling a special council alongside Spearhead Charter Intelligence to look into the claims that Talia regarding her relation to Xeria, but let it be known that High Lord Eardley is, and always will be the rightful heir!

In response to this assault, the restoration of the SCRG's reconnaissance group has been accelerated.
