From paradise to the Witch Head

Equipped with a brand new Type-6 (I didn't want to deal with anyone else's bad repairs) I probably overpaid for, I set out to make a name for myself as a trader. That turned out to be incredibly poor planning... the Type-6, even with an empty cargo hold, is a pirate magnet. Still, I spent some time in it, bouncing around from one crap job to another until I saw my goldmine! Hauling goods for the new developments in Maia! I teamed up with a buddy of mine, a few weeks later we got our pay... a couple million. He thought it was a good deal, I wanted more. I always want more. There's three kinds of people in this life, content people who are happy with what they've got, entitled assholes who want everything and are pissed off no one's giving it to them, and cranky bastards who are never satisfied, but will earn every scrap they can get. I guess I fall in the latter category.A few million wasn't a lot (try telling that to me before flight school!), but it was a start, and enough for me to get a Keelback, Taipan and crew! I'd be easy pickings no more! Or, that would have been the case if I knew what I was doing... or how to tell a good escort pilot from a bad one. Trading was off the table, I had to admit I was lousy at it and moved on to bounty hunting. Now, there's good money to be made in bounty hunting, but it's very stressful work.
I was starting to burn out, but I had some money saved up so I did the only sane thing, sold everything I owned, bought a top of the line Asp Explorer, got it equipped well and went to take it down to a planet to break in the rover. Well, long story short, the rover was broken about the time I smashed into the ground, destroying my ship. Gravity? Never heard of it!
I took out a small loan for the deductable and went off into the black, I was going to get rich exploring for new worlds! A week later and halfway to the Coalsack (yeah... I know), I encountered... issues. The details don't matter, and if you value your hide, you'll drop the subject!
With no clue what to do next, I called up my brother to see what he was up to. Turns out, he wanted a vacation too, so we set out for Barnard's Loop and the Witch Head nebula. After weeks of travel (I know...) we arrived at Witch Head. That place will always hold a special place in my heart because I finally made it somewhere! After exploring a bit, we finally departed for Barnard's Loop. We made it, not much to write about, then we turned back.
Again, not much to write about except the weeks it took to get back (seriously, I know, don't give me that look! Ok, that's it, one more look outta you and I'm coming over there!). I made some money on the data, but not as much as I hoped. Well, time to get back to work, I put the Asp into storage, picked up an Adder (yes, I like Adders, and I don't want to hear another word about it!) and loaded it for bounty hunting.
