Money for nothing

09 Feb 2024Haraldsen
The Federation always sits on its high horse and insists on its moral superiority. I wonder how they would react if they knew that it is one of their systems that buys the 10,000 Imperial slaves left over after our rendezvous with the Emerald Dawn yesterday. I guess money doesn't stink after all.

Actually, it was more of a coincidence that we ended up in this system now. Our diversions yesterday cost us more tritium than planned, so we looked for sales opportunities nearby. We came across a carrier that had large quantities of silver and palladium. It seems that someone had been very busy mining materials. But apparently not as diligent when it comes to trade and security.
After our scans revealed that this carrier listed all goods at an extremely low price of 2,000 to 2,700 CR per unit and had virtually no fighters or even access control, we took advantage of the moment and docked our freighters without further ado and loaded everything from their cargo bay that wasn't nailed down. During the loading of the last transport, however, someone must have become aware of this unheard-of procedure, as someone on their bridge suddenly initiated a system jump. But our freighters all made it out in time. So fully loaded and therefore slow that our engineer came up with the idea of upgrading their engines.

Well, then this unexpected booty is probably good for something: making even more booty possible. The eternal circle of life. Let's see where we can get tritium cheaply. We're currently monitoring all transport routes leading out of the system. I reckon we'll find a favourable opportunity to buy or steal it at some point. At the moment we have to unload all our cargo anyway making another customer happy.

After today, I've come to the conclusion that Imperial slaves get around quite a bit, and Money for nothing is both a good song and a good motto.
