The Liberation of Aitvani

The rebellion in Aitvani has achieved great success. Despite a last ditch effort by Imperials likely under the command of Lavigny's Legion, the Order of the Imperial Knights has been driven from the system, leaving the remaining Imperial forces in a weakened and disorganized state. The Northern Culture has assumed control of the system, reorganizing it under the leadership of regional authorities. The displaced local Imperial garrison has lost considerable influence and is now being investigated for gross incompetence by their superiors. Meanwhile, the HIP 34961 Empire League has fortified Almagro Settlement as a base of operations for what appears to be a plan for a future Imperial attempt to retake the system from the rebels, effectively assuming control of the Imperial agenda in the system. It remains to be seen whether they can juggle this new responsibility with their commitments in other systems, where they have recently lost considerable ground.I, for one, am betting that they will relocate their forces to Aitvani in a desperate attempt to prevent the rebellion from gaining more traction, sacrificing other systems. The Empire has already demonstrated a tendency to prioritize this system at the expense of others, allowing themselves to be manipulated into making mistakes where the stakes are high. Of course, my main concern was the removal of the Order, but let us not forget that my reasons for removing the Order was to create openings for the Federation to move into the region and put pressure on the Empire, which is itself a part of a much larger campaign to drive the superpowers against one another, and instigate the galactic war which will weaken them, and ultimately destroy them. Currently, there does not appear to be any significant threat of the Federation taking advantage of the situation in Aitvani for expansion, however any weakening of the Empire in this region where they were previously strong fulfills the ultimate goal. The retreat of the Order does open opportunities for expansion, though I expect the Northern Culture to fight for what they have gained here. Ultimately, the fall of the Superpowers will create opportunities for independent factions everywhere to spread, and that is what is happening here. While I am still not entirely content with independent factions ruling distant people with indifference and irresponsibility, I am at least confident that they have the potential to do a better job than the Superpowers, as we have seen many times. Those who fail to do so will meet with the same fate I visited upon Congressus Tenebris, an independent faction who mismanaged their systems to the point of collapse and only took greater responsibility for their fate after I began liberating their people, eventually forcing them to the negotiation table.
Those who doubt my methods or my goals need only look at what I have achieved. You cannot argue with results, and I have demonstrated time and time again that I am capable of bringing the change I promise, even if it may take some time to do so with the small numbers the movement currently possesses. As more flock to my cause, change will happen more rapidly and spread further. I hold out hope that someday we will inspire legions of oppressed and their supporters to rise up and tear down the corrupt magnates and tyrants who barter and enslave their people to sustain their gross and greedy decadence.
