La Confrérie de Xembala est née de la rencontre entre un ancien officier des forces spéciales de la Fédération et le guide spirituel de l'ONE, l'Ordre du Nihilisme Eclairé, à bord d'un Croiseur de retour de Colonia. Imprégné de l'incommensurable sagesse de l'Ainée Eileen Nolan, le capitaine Orlhad Setchep comprit qu'il était temps, après des années de combat, de mettre son énergie et ses quelques talents au service d'une cause plus vaste et plus noble que le conflit stérile que menaient la Fédération et l'Empire. Il eut ainsi la conviction d'un futur utopique où l'humanité pourrait enfin s'extraire de ses basses contingences et de ses interminables querelles au profit d'une société plus juste et et plus équitable. Dans ce but, il entreprit l'édification d'une Confrérie qui pourrait accueillir ceux qui seraient prêts à l'accompagner dans cette œuvre.

Mercenaires de passage, voyageurs égarés : ils furent quelques uns à écrire les premières pages de l'histoire dans des installations de fortune. Dotés de peu de moyens mais portés par leur conviction, ils guidèrent la Première Confrérie vers la reconnaissance et fondèrent le premier Synédrium dans le système HIP 14922 sur le territoire de Laniakea. Quand vint le temps de pérenniser cette œuvre, ils se mirent alors en quête d'un lieu où construire la société promise et bâtir la nouvelle cité de Kalapa, capitale de la future Communauté Libre de Xembala. Accompagnés de réfugiés de l'ONE quittant des territoires occupés, d'idéalistes en quête d'absolu ou d'utopistes à la recherche d'un monde meilleur, ils posèrent les premières fondations de cette cité sur l'hémisphère Nord de la planète Ksedra dans le système Cornsar et y entreprirent la construction d'un nouveau Synédrium pour accueillir les guides de la communauté et les protecteurs de la Confrérie. Mais le destin est joueur et l'histoire ne s'écrit jamais comme on l'imagine. Pour la Confrérie, il restait maintes épreuves à affronter et d'autres pages à remplir....

The Brotherhood of Xembala was born out of a meeting between a former Federation Special Forces officer and the spiritual leader of the OEN, the Order of Enlightened Nihilism, aboard a Cruiser returning from Colonia. Steeped in the immeasurable wisdom of the Elder Eileen Nolan, Captain Orlhad Setchep realised that it was time, after years of fighting, to put his energy and few talents to work for a cause greater and nobler than the sterile conflict between the Federation and the Empire. He became convinced of a utopian future where humanity could finally free itself from its petty contingencies and endless quarrels to create a more just and equitable society. To this end, he set about building a Brotherhood that would welcome those who would be willing to accompany him in this work.

Transient mercenaries, lost travellers: a few of them wrote the first pages of history in makeshift facilities. With few resources, but driven by their conviction, they led the First Brotherhood to recognition and founded the first Synedrium in the HIP 14922 system on the territory of Laniakea. When the time came to make this work permanent, they set out to find a place to build the promised society and to construct the new city of Kalapa, capital of the future Free Community of Xembala. Accompanied by OEN refugees from occupied territories, idealists in search of the absolute and utopians in search of a better world, they laid the first foundations of this city on the northern hemisphere of the planet Ksedra in the Cornsar system and began the construction of a new Synedrium to house the community's guides and the Brotherhood's protectors. But destiny is a player and history is never written the way we imagine it. For the Brotherhood, there were still many trials to face and other pages to fill....
