CMDR PAUSANIAS - THE SHIP OF THE MIND EXPEDITION - DAY 56
04 Oct 2020Pausanias
Hi Cmdrs,EIGHT WEEKS OUT!
This was the image I left you with last night . . .
and then when I woke up today things had moved, do do do do, I know the Cutter hadn’t so it must be the moon, planet, or both which had moved in the night, see how the same vista looks now! Spooky.
Last night there were 10 jumps left to The Carl Sagan but when I re-plotted the route tonight it was 11! I have made those jumps, mapped a few worthwhile planets and arrived at the Carrier handing in 6,500,000 to my lovely Stellar Cartography Lady, Lourdes Tran. Why is it all my staff look underwhelmed with my achievements? Maybe it’s because I’m out and about having fun (blowing up rocks for example) and they’re just stuck waiting for me on the Carrier? This has given me an idea . . .
. . . I think they should have some fun and downtime.
I’ve got them all together and told them to take either the Asp or the Python out for a few days and explore for themselves, I can take care of the Carrier whilst they are not there, provided I do not move it anywhere it can generally look after itself. We are so far out no-one is likely to land on it so they may as well get out there and have a break from the monotony of waiting around for me to arrive. Three days should be enough for them, and me. So there won’t be any log entries from me for 3 days, I do not expect them to write anything, they can go where they want as long as they come back and whichever ship they take is still in one big piece upon their return!
I might wander the Carrier and see if there’s any needs doing.
