CMDR PAUSANIAS - THE SHIP OF THE MIND EXPEDITION - DAY 65

13 Oct 2020Pausanias
SUNS AND BLACK HOLES

Hi Cmdrs,

As I left the moon I landed on last night I took this image . . .

This is the planet this moon is orbiting and the one with the Icy Rings with the Tritium hotspot which I discovered last night. I dropped into it and mined until full. I know Zaya Lehner, my Armoury Chief, is going to be upset with me again, I blew up a rock again, I can't help it, I like it. I don't get any materials from doing it, just the thrill of seeing it go boom!

In one system I found a valuable HMC planet, this is me leaving it behind after mapping it . . .

On this journey I started off using KGBFOAM to jump systems so I could always re-fuel but as time went on I thought I'd introduce all the others star types, not only for a bit of variety but to make sure I had a chance of finding ALL the star types. I found a 'L Type' ages ago and then I travelled many thousands of light years without finding anything other than KGBFOAM stars. That's all changed tonight!

Before I get into the above statement I took this shot of me flying my Cutter through the plasma jets of this star because I thought it might look good? It did however get the ship up to 200 degrees through!

I then came across this T-Type star, just look at the size of it.

Very shortly after that I jumped into a system with this White Dwarf Neutron Star. I didn't re-fuel from it as I didn't want to loose the ship and I only had 1 more jump out of the 13 I needed to reach The Carl Sagan. This is me leaving, sharpish like.

This was just another lovely planet I mapped. I thought it looked nice with the Sun just creeping around the edge and set off nicely against the Galactic Plane.

One of the planets I mapped tonight was 371,000 light seconds out from its Sun but I still went out to get it taking this image from the back of the cockpit as I approached the B System . . .

I eventually reached the Carrier and handed in 6,000,000 of scan data. I then refuelled the Carrier with the Tritium I'd mined and refilled with Limpets to carry on with the Tritium collection.

I decided to leave the Carrier where it was and finish the last 380 ltyrs to TRA x-1 in the Cutter, I have done those 22 jumps and arrived taking these images.

This first one is the TRIPLE BLACK Visitor Beacon there . . .

As the above suggests there are three Black Holes in this system. I took this image of the first Black Hole.

Seven Hundred or so light years from number 1 is Black Hole number 2.

From there it's 12,000 ltyrs to the third Black Hole. This one was distorting the Galactic Plane from the angle I approached it so I took two images here . . .

I decided to bed down in the Cutter for the night in mid space. I don't always like doing that but the excitement of the Triple Black Hole find was just too much.

Tomorrow I'm going to plot a route AHEAD of the Carrier going North and then fly to it so I'm not going back the way I got here.

Total Carrier jump distance since 10th August: 21,500 ltyrs - (Personal note: 38 jumps on 9 Oct)
Total Ship jump so far: 41,056
Total planets Level 3 scanned: 15,620
Total exploration data: 390,000,000 credits
Total systems with my name on: 2810
The Cutter is now 14,000 ltyrs away from Sol!
Distance to Beagle Point: 55,400 ltyrs

TRA X-1, ARRIVED!!!
