SIX YEARS AGO TODAY I BOUGHT MY FIRST SIDEWINDER AND BEGAN THE ADVENTURE THAT IS CALLED ELITE!Hi Cmdrs,
Yes it's been six whole years since I purchased my first Sidewinder and started on this epic journey in our Galaxy. I've seen a lot of changes in that time, most recently the addition of being able to purchase a Fleet Carrier which has made this journey into the Black much more enjoyable, profitable and even possible. Here's to the next year and more!
Last night I'd just found another Tritium hotspot to mine but didn't make a start. By the end of tonight I'd filled my Cutter with 266 tons of the stuff. When I last left the Carrier she had 300 tons in stock, I added another 266 and then jumped her 500 ltyrs so that would have used 130 tons, so the Carrier should have over 400 tons in stock now. Adding this 266 should take her to about 650 out of 1000 if my maths is correct. This means I could really do with one more Cutter run and mining session before I try another ship again.
Once again whilst mining I found a rock I could blow up and despite umming and arhhing as to whether I should, I DID!
I just can't resist it. In this image I'm seen leaving the 'crime scene', you can see the exploded rocks top centre.
When I get back to The Carl Sagan next time I'm just going to check something on the Cutters build. I know I have the SRV Bay in a Class 5 slot, which is very wasteful, if I can, I intend to jiggle things around to see if I can get an extra 3 Limpet Collectors in the 5 slot instead but try and keep the SRV although I do not need it until I need Tungsten to replenish the Mining Drills I use, which isn't often.
Any how, Ive mined another 266 tons of Tritium tonight and then decided to land on the nearest Moon for the night rather than heading for the Carrier which I think is about 22 jumps away still. This is me landed on that Moon looking back towards the planet whose rings I've just mined.
