CAMP FIRES ON A PLANET?Hi Cmdrs,
The next Carrier jump was set up and I took off after it in the Python which was going to take 18 jumps.
I dropped into a system, after quite a few jumps, which had THREE High Metal Content planets with ring systems. HMC’s with rings are quite unusual. I’ve only photographed two of them here, the two that were close together, but upon mapping them they revealed another secret.
Mapping both of the planets they revealed Geological Sites on both. I randomly chose one to investigate which turned out to be in crater, getting down to ground level they appeared like camp fires, three or four rocks arranged around a vent which was spurting fire making them look like camp fires.
In the above image you can see the Sun shining over the edge of the crater and the bright line is this planets rings.
As I left the planet I took this image which looks like the Python with a star field behind it, they are in fact many ‘fires’ burning in the crater I just left. I need to re-organise my Python to include an SRV.
I carried on, reaching the Carrier in its system, and handed in 3,000,000 of scan data. I decided to switch to my Asp to continue the journey, set up the next jump for The Carl Sagan and took off. In the Asp it’s only 9 jumps to it.
It wasn’t long before I came across this High Metal Content planet which had polar ice caps at both ends. From memory I don’t think I’ve seen that many planets with polar ice caps at both ends, they should do, but quite often they only have ice at one end.
With only 9 jumps to do it wasn’t long before I arrived at the Carrier and handed in 3,500,000 of exploration data.
I set up another Carrier jump and used the Asp again taking 9 jumps again to get to the Carrier and handed in another 4,000,000 today.
I’ll be staying on the Carrier again tonight and moving it tomorrow.
