GREEN ALGAE OR GREEN GLOSS PAINT?Hi Cmdrs,
As promised, today I went out in the SRV looking for the Tungsten I’d used for my mining drills. Last night I landed in daylight but today I was in darkness and in the headlights of the SRV the surface seemed grey and covered with Green Algae, but further on I thrusted above the surface and the green started to look more like green gloss paint! Have a look at these two images I took . . .
After about half an hour on the surface I found the 6 units of Tungsten I needed to fill up plus a few bonus materials which I was short of. The Asp had disappeared into orbit around the moon so I recalled it, boarded, and left continuing on the 6 jumps to The Carl Sagan without any further major finds.
Upon reaching the Carrier system there was, however, lots to discover. There were 4 HMCs in system. For some reason the Carrier had been dropped into this system 2,500ls out from the main star. Two of the four HMCs were close to the Sun so I decided to map those first, then go to the Carrier, and send it off, mapping the two remaining HMCs before I left the system, which worked out well. I handed in 8,000,000 in exploration data, and swapped to the Cutter to get some mining done.
Upon reaching the two HMCs, after leaving the Carrier, it is satisfying to see my name already showing as ‘First Discovered By’.
On my way to the forth HMC I positioned the Cutter to get this shot.
I then set off on the 24 jumps to where I’d sent the Carrier. About three jumps in I found a Tritium hotspot to mine. I managed about 210 tons before I’d had enough, I was falling asleep at the controls. I moved the ship to a safe position and then shut down all non-essential systems for the night. I’ll finish off tomorrow when I’ve had a good nights sleep.
