SILICATE VAPOUR GAS VENTS, TWIN MOONS & A 5 STAR SYSTEMHi Cmdrs,
After 8 jumps I arrived at The Carl Sagan but had found nothing of interest on the journey so I just handed in my 3,000,000 credits.
The next O Class was 11 jumps away for the Asp so I decided to go straight there and jump the Carrier twice remotely. On this journey I decided to check out these two moons for the Geological Signals they were supposed to have.
Upon landing on the nearest of the two moons I found the Silicate Vapour Gas Vents. I drove around for a while and found a couple of Mercury deposits but all the other materials I found I was full of.
I also came across this Water World with an unusually large amount of cloud cover, so that had to be imaged.
I carried on and reached the O Class but someone's already been there yet again. I don’t understand how my journey to these systems is through ‘virgin’ systems and when I get there someone’s already been to the system, how is this possible!
I handed in my 3,000,000 and set up the next jump of 1000ltyrs to another O Class system. This was 17 jumps and again I decided to jump the Carrier remotely to get it there. On this set of jumps I found a planet with Silicate Magma Lava Spouts which I went down to have a look at.
I took this shot as a returned to the Ship as I thought the landscape here was quite unique.
I went through a system with FIVE stars and although this image doesn’t show five stars I think it’s a lovely composition of 3 of them.
I also found these Ice Water Fumaroles but didn’t bother to land as I’ve come across these many times already on this journey.
I arrived at The Carl Sagan and handed in 2,500,000 credits and by now the Carrier was running low on reserves so I transferred 500 Tritium over leaving 18,500 in stock. The Carrier wasn’t in the final destination system, it was one jump short, so I made the final jump in the Asp to the O Class, and, nothing, just the star!
I’ve now plotted a route to a Proto Star 557 ltyrs away, maybe that might yield something?
Whilst it was more interesting than the previous O Class systems there still wasn’t any Biological Signals in the system despite there being two landable planets. I took this image of a local Gas Giant before landing on its moon for the night. The whole system is bathed in a purple haze.
Total Ship jump distance so far: 85,174
Total planets Level 3 scanned: 30,344
Total exploration data: 799,500,000 credits
Total systems with my name on: 3779
My Ship is now 41,441 ltyrs away from Sol!
Distance to Beagle Point: 30,476 ltyrs
These O Class Stars are becoming a disappointment.
