CMDR PAUSANIAS - THE SHIP OF THE MIND EXPEDITION - DAY 111

A COUPLE OF EARTH LOOKALIKES & LITTLE ELSE, BUT A GOOD DISTANCE COVERED TODAYHi Cmdrs,
The target system I’ve set right across The Veils region of the Galaxy was 8100ltyrs from the system I stayed in last night. I woke up this morning still in the Anemone Field I was at last night, except it had gone dark!. All I could see from the Asp’s cockpit window was eerie lights flickering, it was very spooky and unnerving. I still went out for a drive though.
I didn’t find anything I could collect in the Anemone field and that really set the tone for the rest of my day. I went back to the Ship finding nothing I could pick up.
I then set an interim marker 2420 light years away which would take me to another O Class system, this was 41 jumps distant, and set off. I decided to jump The Carl Sagan separately again as this seems to be quite efficient. As long as I plot it’s course along the same course as the Asp it’ll always be where I need it.
I dropped into this system with two suns really close together, which one should I refuel off?
I did meet up with the Carrier to replenish its fuel moving 500 tons over and leaving 18,000 in stock. I also handed in 4,000,000 credits for the exploration data to date.
I passed through this system with what looked like two Earthlikes, however, one was a Water World and the other a High Metal Content planet.
This image is of the High Metal Content planet.
Still jumping the Carrier alongside my jumps I got to the O Class I was aiming for and . . . NOTHING! Just the main star and nothing else, no planets, no other stars, nada.
So, I flew back one jump to another system that had Geological Signals in it and landed on one of the moons which turned out to have ICE WATER FUMEROLES, something I’ve found before but apparently not in The Veils region because a message shot off to the Codex as I scanned one.
I also came in to hard and smacked into the ground loosing all my shields and 11% of the hull. I’ve landed safely now, the shields have come back quickly but I’ll have to use the Carrier to repair the hull, I’ve called it over to this system before retiring for the night, I’m too tired to wait for it to arrive.
See you tomorrow Commanders . . .
Total Ship jump distance so far: 89,528
Total planets Level 3 scanned: 31,012
Total exploration data: 811,000,000 credits
Total systems with my name on: 3837
My Ship is now 43,445 ltyrs away from Sol!
Distance to Beagle Point: 27,210 ltyrs
I’m wondering if these O Class Stars are worth concentrating on.
