ANOTHER BIOLOGICAL SIGNAL SITE FOUND, RUBEUM BIOLUMINESCENT ANEMONESHi Cmdrs,
No Biological Signals for 48,000 ltyrs, then two in two days! Typical, like buses, none for ages then two at once!
When I started today I had 157 jumps to the target system I’ve set in this region. Within one jump I was mapping another Water World, this one, and I’ve found several more today, but no Earthlikes.
I got to The Carl Sagan and handed in a nice 9,000,000 credits for the first half of today.
Jumping on I found more Water Worlds and High Metal Content planets to map and then, suddenly, another Biological Signal appeared on a planet. After finishing scanning the whole system I flew over. Even the planet approach looked intriguing, a lovely yellow planet with lots of surface detail. Just look at that huge red crater in the top left of the body.
Upon landing I found these RUBEUM BIOLUMINESCENT ANEMONES, but these are not the same as the ones I’ve seen before, these have tendrils running up the side and different colouration. The first site I went to was also on the dark side which made taking images a little difficult.
This image shows the Anemone field. It’s much larger than you can see here, the image is limited by the throw of my SRV lights, which are on full beam by the way.
I decided to see if I could find a site on the light side of the planet, which I did, Biological Signal Site 3 was on the sunny side. As I rounded the planet I took this shot of another crater, it was massive and the red sub surface had been exposed plus all the ejecta had spewed out like wagon wheels around it. Fantastic image.
This was the sight I saw as I approached the other Biological Signal, a massive field of Anemones again.
Having landed I was able to take some clearer images of the phenomenon.
This image shows three Anemones but all have slightly different characteristics.
This image shows the sheer size of the field. The SRV and the Asp are both in this image but you can hardly see them.
After driving around for quite a while picking up a few materials I left this intriguing planet behind and headed for the Carrier where I handed in 11,500,000 credits.
I’ll stop on The Carl Sagan again tonight, too much excitement!
Total Ship jump distance so far: 97,972
Total planets Level 3 scanned: 33,275
Total exploration data: 988,000,000 credits
Total systems with my name on: 3997
My Ship is now 48,931 ltyrs away from Sol!
Distance to Beagle Point: 19,285 ltyrs
Finding these two Biological Signals has boosted my morale no end. Onwards and upwards.
