CMDR PAUSANIAS - THE SHIP OF THE MIND EXPEDITION - DAY 121

MORE BIOLOGICALS ON AN INTERESTING MOONHi Cmdrs,
My day started with 111 jumps to my target system, by the end of the day that was around 77, so a good days travelling.
Not long out I found this planet with an extensive ring system stretching way out into space.
I tried this Geological Site just to see if I might find something a bit different, as it had a ring system, but it was another Sulphur Dioxide Fumarole site. I didn't land but did take this impressive image of the Asp hovering over them with the rings as a backdrop and the long shadows.
Jumping on I found another Biological Signal site and as I approached this interesting small moon I was able to take this shot of a mountain range silhouetted against the main planet. Note also the blue ravines and the general texture of the moon.
I scanned the site from the air and found it to be another Crystal Shard field so I didn't land. Instead I just took this image with the Asp hovering over the field. In the background can be seen the central peak of the crater these were in, the 'hill' in the distance is the rim of the crater.
As I left this moon I took some more images of the interesting geology. This is another mountain range close to the Crystal Shard site I'd just visited.
And this one of some nearby 'trenches'.
As this moon had such a lot of detail I decided to try another Geological site on the same planet and as I approached the next one I took this shot of a large crater. It hasn't shown up to well but there looks to be an atmosphere of mist sitting in the crater itself.
Again it wasn't worth landing so I just took this image of the Asp peeking out from behind the Fumaroles but it shows the diversity of the Geological field with the Crystal Shards included and the very dark grey 'moon' dust in the foreground.
I left that moon behind, it had been well worth looking at even though I didn't land there.
I reached The Carl Sagan and handed in another 6,500,000 credits worth of exploration data and carried on.
Just as I scanned this planet I recognised a familiar constellation, could this be URSA MAJOR from 50,000 ltyrs, would it be at least a little distorted from what we see on Earth? I think so.
Again I reached the Carrier and handed in another 2,500,000 for the last set of jumps.
As I dropped into the Carrier system for the last time today this image presented itself. It shows The Carl Sagan set against the local star which is exhibiting the characteristics of the 'Dandelion Ship' portrayed in the series COSMOS, which if you know of the series, you'll know what this image is all about. Sorry about the dirty windows, I couldn't get the shot without the dirt showing up!
Upon landing on the Carrier I handed in 21,000,000, moved 500 tons of Tritium over which means I have 15,000 left in stock to continue this journey.
That'll do for today, I'm turning in for the night.
Total Ship jump distance so far: 102,599 ltyrs
Total planets Level 3 scanned: 34,455
Total exploration data: 1,046,500,000 credits
Total systems with my name on: 4066
My Ship is now 50,830 ltyrs away from Sol!
Distance to Beagle Point: 16,202 ltyrs
A good day me thinks! I have surpassed the 100,000 ltyrs Ship Distance Travelled mark today.
