CMDR PAUSANIAS - THE SHIP OF THE MIND EXPEDITION - DAY 123 (4 MONTHS TODAY)

10 Dec 2020Pausanias
TODAY IS MY 4 MONTH OF BEING OUT IN THE BLACK - MORE NOTABLE STELLAR PHENOMENA AND BIOLOGICAL SIGNALS

Hi Cmdrs,

I haven't set a course for the interim target system today, I thought I'd better get back to The Carl Sagan first due to my trip backwards, it was 16 jumps to the Carrier from my position yesterday.

I thought I'd shoot a bit of video of where I left off yesterday to give a bit more drama to the NSP. When I arrived last night everything was in daylight and today I managed to catch this just as the sun was rounding the planet shedding some light on the scene.

Within a couple of jumps I came across this image, the main star is B Class with an A Class sat just behind it.

With 10 jumps still to go I found another Notable Stellar Phenomena, this is the approach past this lovely looking Gas Giant. Again the NSP was in the rings of the planet.

Once in the NSP I found these, LINDIGOTICUM SILICATE CRYSTALS, bluish coloured crystals similar to the ones I found yesterday.

I have included some video of this as I think it shows the field off much better . . .

There were three NSP's in this system. The above was the first one and then there were two more, both in the same ring system of another planet in the same system. I flew over to investigate these expecting them to be the same, but they weren't.

In the second NSP I found these, PURPUREUM ICE CRYSTALS and PRASINUM SILICATE CRYSTALS, this is a close up of the Prasinum Silicate Crystals, greenish instead of the earlier bluish ones . . .

Here is a close up of the Purpureum Ice Crystals in the same area, again approaching these closely sends the ship temperature down to 0% . . .

Here is some video footage of this NSP showing both phenomena . . .

I moved over to the third NSP and found these, ROSEUM SILICATE CRYSTALS . . .

This image shows both the crystals and the Purpureum Crystals in the background in this third NSP . . .

I got back to trying to reach the Carrier again and passed through a system with this impressive High Metal Content that I thought was worth taking an image of . . .

I also found these two interesting bodies, both Lava Planets, but both with strange 'desert' areas, this one was quite a large area covered . . .

And this one seemed to have volcanoes on which had spewed out a sandy covered ejecta . . .

Still with just a couple of jumps left to reach The Carl Sagan I found another Biological Signal on a moon. This was the approach to it, a very vibrantly coloured moon as you can see . . .

This turned out to be more Crystal Shards. This time they were up the side of a very large crater. In this image you can see the ridge of the crater and the Asp nestled amongst the Biological Signal Site. I didn't bother landing, I just took this image to prove I'd been there!

I then went on to join the Carrier.

Through the 16 systems I've jumped today I have found many Water Worlds and High Metal Content worlds so the exploration data turned out to be a whopping 52,000,000 credits since I was last at The Carl Sagan.

On the whole another good days travel, very fruitful. See you tomorrow Cmdrs.

Total Ship jump distance so far: 103,587 ltyrs
Total planets Level 3 scanned: 34,455
Total exploration data: 1,092,500,000 credits
Total systems with my name on: 4081
My Ship is now 51,066 ltyrs away from Sol!
Distance to Beagle Point: 15,793 ltyrs

After 4 months it's all still very engaging!
