CMDR PAUSANIAS - THE SHIP OF THE MIND EXPEDITION - DAY 124

LOTS MORE WATER WORLDS, HIGH METAL CONTENTS AND A SYSTEM MADE UP OF GAS GIANTSHi Cmdrs,
Today started with 69 jumps left to the target system and ended with about 37, so I've covered a fair distance today.
The first interesting encounter I came across was this Geological Signalled Ringed Planet . . .
I dropped in here purely because the planet had rings and a Geological Signal site, no other reason. However, it turned out to be a very detailed object and the oranges and greys really made it look the business. I did actually land and took this image of the surface, SRV, Asp, the Silicate Magma Lava Spouts I found there, and most importantly, the ring system. Looks like I caught part of the local Star too.
Further into todays journey I found this Water World, also with a ring system. These are quite rare but not impossible to find. The odd thing about this one was that it was the Eighth MOON of a Gas Giant. Imagine living on a moon that was orbiting a Gas Giant, what a view you'd have every day of the heavens.
I then reached The Carl Sagan for the first time today and handed in 14,000,000 credits for exploration data so far.
A few more jumps and I found this very unusual system, I haven't seen anything like this before. Two Stars with 13 Gas Giants between them, and two little planets tucked in there too. The fourth one out from the main Star was another Water World
Having just said that Ringed Water Worlds are rare, I found another one! This one had rocky rings, perhaps the remains of a moon that had blown itself apart, or never formed? Several moons perhaps judging by the ring dispersement.
I then tried another Ringed Planet with another Geological Signal site on, but once again it was Silicate Magma Lava Spouts. I still landed though and had a drive around finding nothing I could pick up. I took this image just to prove I was there! Again the rings are featured in the image.
My final image for the day is this High Metal Content which I flew into a high orbit of to get this shot. I don't think we have any idea of just how big these planets really are from space. Look how tiny the Asp looks.
Upon reaching the Carrier again I handed in a further 18,500,000 credits worth of data, moved another 500 tons of Tritium from the hold into the fuel tanks leaving 14,500 tons for the journey.
If my calculations are right that's still enough for another 53,000 ltyrs of jumping. Beagle Point is 14,000 away so that's a good chunk to get back with.
Total Ship jump distance so far: 105,929 ltyrs
Total planets Level 3 scanned: 35,274
Total exploration data: 1,125,000,000 credits
Total systems with my name on: 4113
My Ship is now 52,100 ltyrs away from Sol!
Distance to Beagle Point: 14,235 ltyrs
Onwards and upwards as they say!
