CMDR PAUSANIAS - THE SHIP OF THE MIND EXPEDITION - DAY 136

SO GLAD I BUILT THE JUMPACONDAHi Cmdrs,
I decided to see if I could track down a virgin Wolf Rayet today and having searched Formorian Frontier Sector I found 4 candidates, I bookmarked each of them.
The first one was 5800 ltyrs distant and I was in the Asp when I tried to plot a route, it kept failing. So, I switched to the Jumpaconda, which has an 84 ltyr jump range, and a route was found! I set off on the 91 jumps this was going to take.
The Jumpaconda took a lot of effort to put together, swapping modules about, engineering them and even a trip to Colonia to push everything to the very limit, at the time of writing this nothing has a jump range like it, apart from a Carrier.
On arrival at the first one it had already been visited although a message went off to the Codex upon me finding it. I double checked the 'First Found' and sure enough someone's name was already there.
The next one was 13 jumps away, same story, on to the third 21 jumps away, same story again, already found. The Codex was recognising them as 'Confirmed' but you get nothing for that. On all occasions though the approach has been through virgin systems so the people finding these previously must have used a different approach vector than I have done.
On to the fourth, fifth and sixth one, same story at each, all already found by someone else.
The Jumpaconda is very fragile so you don’t want to mess about with it. On one occasion today I dropped into a Class O giant and started to overheat badly, there was another star right near where I came in and I was being double heated, I got out as quick as I could but still suffered around 8 or 9 percent damage on many of my modules. This is an image looking back at the twin heaters, bear in mind the nearer star is massive!
I've racked up 20,000 ltyrs today just jumping the Jumpaconda around and when I got back to The Carl Sagan I handed in 21,500,000 just from 'honk' scanning all the systems I've been through, see my 'first found’ total from yesterday and compare it with today!
Now I know how to find Wolf Rayet systems I will just incorporate it into my journey rather than shooting off on wild goose chases again.
I got back to the Carrier and plotted a 16,000 ltyr journey to another random waypoint down towards the right of Sag A, 249 jumps in the Asp.
I found quite a few planets to map including this colourful Ammonia World . . .
I got to The Carl Sagan and handed in a further 17,500,000 which isn’t bad when added to the earlier amount.
I’m about 13,800 ltyrs from the new target system and still have about 230 plus jumps to do to get there. This marker is the point at which I don’t really want the Tritium I’m carrying to get any lower.
Total Ship jump distance so far: 151,144 ltyrs
Total planets Level 3 scanned: 40,985
Total exploration data: 1,402,500,000 credits
Total systems with my name on: 4501
My Ship is now 56,289 ltyrs away from Sol!
