Feds and Imps

Damn both. But sometimes you have to choose a side. After a few days of rest, I unpacked my Combatconda, the "G'Kar", named after the famous Narn ambassador, freedom fighter, and spiritual leader. My destination: Matteucci Ring in CD-39 4830. This is where I met Mats Ruegg again. Mats and I go back to our time at Zurich Helvetica, the transport and cargo company back on Earth. He was ZH's liaison to the Federation Navy. Bit of a stiff guy, but extremely diligent and reliable. And he helped me a lot back in the days when my mother got sick. Kindness you won't forget. Last time I saw him was roughly a decade ago, before I left everything and went dark with the "Screaming Firehawks". He appears strangely younger than ten years ago but maybe it's just because he isn't pushing pencils in the 24th floor of the ZH headquarter anymore. 
Turns out, Mats is now helping out systems and factions (Federation aligned, of course) in need, organising emergency relief and funding, and apparently also defense. Here in CD-39 4830 there's a power struggle going on. Arissa Lavigny-Duval, her Imperial highness herself, has her eyes fixed on exploiting this system – and her very own Kalvelis Imperial Society is attacking the poor folks of Independent CD-39 4830 Independents. Mats asked me to assist in the defense, and also in the relief effort. If this can be won is uncertain, depends very much on how strong the Empire feels about this little agricultural system. But kicking ALD's Imps is always something I happily do. Not all Imps are equally bad, and hey I fly Gutamaya if I can, but the Empress has a very clear and conservative agenda. So even if it means siding with capitalist Feds, I do it for Mats and the good people here.
Interestingly, there's a lot of special ops teams running around as well. So we'll see how this unfolds. Not sure how long we can keep this up, but as long as my G'Kar has some fire left in her, we spit white-hot vengeance and justice on those Imps!
