I've gone and done it, I've swore my swears and gotten myself joined up with Lavigny's Legion. Believe it or not I'm proud to be able to have a purpose for once in my life, and not feel so listless and without aim. I will fight, and if need be, die for the Empire and our noble Emperor Arissa Lavigny-Duval. I'm kinda giddy to tell you the truth. I'm excited for my future adventures! Who would have thought little ol' me from a backwater mud-puddle of a planet, piloting a rusted-up ASP, could have ever gotten off that planet much less join the Legion???
Anyway, it hasn't all been pomp and circumstance. I've taken on a few tasks that were needed by Lavigny's Legion, some courier work in the neighboring systems. That was all okay until my last stop, a fellow asked me to do a salvage run. He wanted me to hunt down a black box left over from a competitor's wreck, and I unwisely took it. I didn't realize my error at first, I was so excited to network out in this new place (for me.)
Well it turns out that the whole mission was illegal! As in, if I had been caught with the box I could have been charged with a crime, or worse, been thrown out of the Legion. So I jettisoned the heck out of that box and purged the contract from my computers. Let the criminal stew on it, thinking I'm hard at work, and maybe his plan will come undone on its own. Needless to say I will be filing the appropriate report to security at the station.
Fortunately the courier work brought in some cash (mostly reputation building,) so it wasn't a complete loss even with the repair costs to the Golm Hakkar. By the way you should see the look on the maintenance crew when they saw him. I was a daily topic in the hangars I'm sure, especially since Golm Hakkar is 99% spaceworthy at least. It's all just surface rust and after-market home-made parts on the outside, but his insides are good and that's the important part.
I'll post a new log later on, since I've still got plenty of energy to work.
Note to self: Study Imperial history. You slept through that class remember? Also government, because I need to understand the politics of it all.
Note to self 2: Stop sleeping during classes. It just seems to push the problem further down the road.
